Black beans brownies

Triple B brownies

I made these vegan brownies for Valentine’s and no one guessed the secret ingredient so I decided to post the recipe for your enjoyment.

They are super healthy and low in natural sugars. High in fiber and nutrients. You can feel good about eating them.

The secret ingredients is black beans! No one can tell. If you don’t believe me. Make them yourself. The name tripe B instead of black beans brownies is to help you disguise the secret ingredient. Have fun with this recipe.

 

Ingredients

  • 1½ cup raw black beans
  • 2 large flax eggs ( 2 tbsp flax seeds, 6 tbsp/ 90 ml water)
  • 1⁄4 cup coconut oil
  • 1⁄3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp organic vanilla extract
  • ½ cup raw cocoa powder
  • 1⁄4 cup oat flower
  • 1⁄4 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup crush pecans or walnuts (optional)

Preparation

  • Soak the black beans in water overnight.
  • Mix the flax seeds and water in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Drain and rinse well the beans and cook until tender. Let them cool down.
  • Turn on the oven and set temperature to 350F.
  • Puree the beans in a food processor with all the liquid ingredients ( flax eggs, coconut oil, vanilla, maple syrup) to get a smooth batter.
  • Add the dry ingredients ( raw cocoa, flower, salt, and baking powder.
  • Place in the mold of your preference (I use muffin mold). Sprinkle nuts on the top if using.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. The brownies are firm to the touch. Let them cool down before you eat. They may be  a little soft in the center when they are hot.
  • Serve, eat and enjoy!
