Nourishing food for all, my birthday wish
Having the opportunity to enjoy wonderful foods is something precious that not everyone has. Let’s help others to have the same opportunity.
As Thanksgiving is approaching fast, I’m reminded of the sad reality that many more people are experiencing food insecurity today because of the Covid Pandemic.
Daily Bread Foodbank reports that visits have increased over 50% since last year. Just in June alone, there were 124,000 client visits to food banks in Toronto.
Here are several ways that we can help in Toronto so that no one goes hungry this Thanksgiving season!
- By donating money, every dollar provides one nutritional meal! This is the most recommended as the food bank also gets what they need.
- By dropping non-perishable food at Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Food Drive on Saturday, October 9, 2021 between 10:00am and 3:00pm at 191 New Toronto Street, Etobicoke.
- By volunteering at a local Food Bank, your time is a wonderful resource that you can give.
Find your own way to contribute and let me know. I will love to hear from you for other opportunities or ideas that can help.
The road to recovery from this Pandemic needs us all healthy and nourished. Let’s help make this a reality for everyone.
Let’s take a moment to be grateful that we have nourishing foods to eat, supporting us in the path of love and understanding. Know that we are fortunate and feel compassion for those who have no food to eat and are without friends and family.
